Coming to Ground
Director of Photography
This feature length documentary was shot all across Kentucky over a three year period . Focused on sustainable farming, we dealt with day upon day of rain, the high humidity of summer, cold early mornings and even snow. I was involved during preproduction in the the look and specing out of production equipment to purchase.
It portrays the state's efforts to move away from tobacco dependency to create a new agricultural economy and culture. Told through the voices of Kentucky farmers, agricultural thinkers, and policy makers, it explores how Kentucky agriculture survived catastrophic change to create a new farm culture and the foundation of a new local food system.
